Darryl Patanian Jackson
Of Buffalo Grove

Darryl Patanian Jackson was born on October 26, 1956 at Cohoes Hospital in Cohoes, New York to Joseph and Myra (nee McOmber) Patanian both of Troy, N.Y.  She died Friday, January 10, 2014 in Barrington, Illinois.

Darryl earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. and her graduate degree in psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL.  She completed her clinical work at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL.

Prior to residing in Chicago, Darryl lived and worked in Washington D.C.   Following graduate school she worked for Syd Simons Cosmetics of Chicago helping to grow the company. Her ability to double its sales, eventually earned her to be listed in Who’s Who in marketing. She moved to Long Grove, Illinois, becoming a member of Long Grove Community Church where she served in a number of capacities that have continued to touch many lives even to this day.

Darryl’s work in the Soul Care Biblical Counseling Ministry at Harvest Bible Chapel in Elgin, IL was her last and most satisfying work.  In addition to this she worked tirelessly in various volunteer activities.  Prior to death she was attending the Village Church of Barrington in Barrington, IL.
 
Darryl is survived by her spouse Robert Rea Jackson III, whom she married March 25, 2006 in South Elgin, Illinois; son, Andrew Patanian Lloyd, of Chicago; step-daughter, Molly E. Jackson, and step-son, Evan R. Jackson both of Buffalo Grove; mother Myra Patanian of Troy, N.Y.; siblings, Deb (Michael) Flood of Penn Yan, N.Y.; Dennise (George) Davis of Vienna, VA.; David (Laura) Patanian of Ft. Mill, South Carolina and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
Darryl was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Patanian of Troy, NY.
 
Memorial Service to be held Saturday, April 5, 2014  (time to be determined) at Long Grove Community Church, 1110 Robert Parker Coffin Road, Long Grove, Illinois. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium immediately following the memorial service.
 
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Leiomyosarcoma Direct Research Foundation http://www.lmsdr.org; Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, New York (earmarked for research in Leiomyosarcoma, attn: Dr. Martee Hensley) and / or Dana Farber Cancer Research Center, Harvard Medical Center, Boston, MA. (earmarked for research in Leiomyosarcoma, attn: Dr. Susanne George).
