Leatrice “Lee” S. Race
Of Arlington Heights

Leatrice “Lee” S. Race was born on October 29, 1927 in Oak Park to Charles and Bernice (nee McElroy) Stein. She died Monday, January 28, 2013 in Arlington Heights.

Lee worked as a legal secretary from 1947 to 1956 for a leading law firm in Chicago and then for the Pabst Brewing Co. She was also a deaconess at the Park Ridge Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Park Ridge Women's Club and enjoyed reading, sailing, birds and animals. She was a full-time, devoted mother.

Lee is survived by her spouse of 57 years, Robert W. Race; her children, Nancy R. Beste, and John R. Race; her grandchildren, Michael A. Beste, and Lauren H. Beste; and her brother, Charles E. Stein.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A private burial took place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie.
