Robert W. Hitzeman
Of Arlington Heights

Robert W. Hitzeman was born on May 6, 1925 in Chicago to Walter and Alice (nee Brockob) Hitzeman. He passed away on January 27, 2013 in Arlington Heights.

Robert served in the Navy during World War II on the USS Boxer. He was an avid tennis player and a skilled woodworker who had a successful career as an electrical engineer.

He is survived by his children, Mary Eileen (Robert) DePinto, Kevin (Mary Dempsey) Hitzeman, William (Nancy) Hitzeman, Joan (the late David) Van Artsdalen, Cathleen Guiney, Brian Hitzeman, Patricia (the late Mark) Anderson, Maureen (Scott) Miller, Gregory (Stacia Hobson) Hitzeman, Richard Hitzeman and Colleen (Paul) Mallon; his 24 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jean Hitzeman, O.P.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. (nee LaVaque) Hitzeman; his brothers, William (Mary) Hitzeman and Thomas (the late Patricia) Hitzeman; and his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Journeys from PADS to HOPE, 1140 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60074.
