Alice Griebel Sylvester
Of Arlington Heights

Alice Griebel Sylvester was born on December 14, 1926 in Chicago to Edward and Alice (nee O'Brien) Griebel. She passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at her home in Arlington Heights.

Alice is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert L. Sylvester; her children, Robert L. Sylvester Jr., Alice (Michael Stepanek) Sylvester, Anne (Robert V. Grego) Sylvester Grego, Jeanne (Peter A. Silverman) Sylvester and Mary (Claudine Moreno Lorme) Sylvester; her grandchildren, Frank Sylvester, Travis Sylvester, Max Stepanek, Alice Amelia Stepanek, Brian Grego, Jim Grego, Clarissa Grego, Jack Silverman, Rebecca Silverman, Allison Silverman and Michael Silverman; and her sister, Margaret G. (the late Gerald E.) Magnuson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Mary K. Griebel.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Monday, January 28, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Funeral Home, proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 am. Interment Mount Carmel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in honor of Alice for school supplies to Marillac Social Center, 212 S. Francisco Ave., Chicago, IL 60612.
