Arthur J. Long, Sr.
Of Arlington Heights
Arthur J. Long, Sr. was born on February 25,
1916 in Detroit, MI to Arthur J. and Margaret
(nee Egan) Long. He passed away on January 13,
2013 in Arlington Heights.
Mr. Long was an accomplished artist and painter.
He worked for the Milwaukee, Pennsylvania and
Rock Island Railroads. Arthur also worked in
commercial and residential real estate sales. He
served in the Third Army during WWII.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary
“Etta” (nee Fenton); his children, Marietta
(John) Kenny, Arthur J. Long Jr., Thomas Long,
Margaret (Michael) Miller, Maureen (Mike)
Roberts, Marian Long, Peter (Tabitha) Long and
Madeline Long; his grandchildren, Thomas (Dody)
Kenny, Robert (Jamie) Kenny and Patrick
(Rebecca) Kenny, Megan (Peter) Coyle, Lauren
(Matthew) Casella, Lindsey Roberts, Michelle
Roberts, David Miller, Sean Miller and Nichole
Miller; his great-grandchildren, Collin Kenny,
Molly Kate Kenny, Meredith Kenny, John Kenny,
Connor Casella, Marlee Kenny and Elliott Coyle.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter,
Kerry Ann Roberts.
Visitation from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm, Tuesday,
January 15, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd.,
1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington
Heights. Prayers 8:45 AM Wednesday, January 16,
2013 at the Funeral Home, proceeding to Our Lady
of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell,
Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30 am. Interment
All Saints Cemetery.
