John T. Hansen
Of Prospect Heights

John "Jack" T. Hansen was born on August 4, 1936 in Chicago to Bede and Mary (nee O'Rourke) Hansen. He died Friday, January 11, 2013 at home.

Jack worked as a Aviation Maintenance Technician / Ground Operations Supervisor for Trans World Airlines and American Trans Air at O'Hare in Chicago, and participated in Operation Desert Storm maintaining troop transport aircraft enroute to Saudi Arabia. He was a member of St. Edna Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. He previously owned several small businesses and was a part owner of an Indy Car Racing Team, Panther Racing.

Jack is survived by his children, Christine M. (John) Strewe, Gerald D. (Shannon) Hansen, and Dawn S. (Steve) Malits, grandchildren, Steven E. Weisheit, Kate M. Hansen, and Jonathan M. Hansen; brothers, Charles Hansen, James (Sandra) Hansen, and Lawrence (Jeanette) Hansen, many nieces and nephews and his little buddy, "Elvis". He was a beloved and dear friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his beloved bride of 46 years, Rosemarie Hansen, whom he married July 14, 1958 in Chicago; his parents; son, Michael Hansen, daughter-in-law Cathy Hansen, and grandson, Hunter M. Malits.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL. In State 9:00 am, Thursday, January 17, 2013 until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights., IL 60004. Interment at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines.
