Helyn A. Tackitt was born January 5, 1924 in Buffalo, NY to Frederick and Essie (nee Forher) Duchscherer. She died January10, 2013 at her home in Arlington Heights.

Helyn was a supervisor for Union Oil Company for over 15 years. She was an active member of St. John UCC in Palatine. She was a long time member of the former Prospect Heights Community Church.

Helyn is survived by her children Barbara Straub, Russell (Debra) Moore and Kathy (Michael) Harlow, Pamela (Ray) Sramek and Jack (Nadine) Tackitt; her grandchildren David (Jenny Skym) Straub, Patti (Andy) Tressler, Kristi (Melissa) Straub, Karen (Tom) Steiger, Tom (Enrique) Straub, Christopher Moore, Adam (Sharifa) Moore, Dawn (Scott) Greathouse, Michael (Jeannie Garnhart) Harlow, Craig (Michelle) Falduto and Scott (Debbie) Falduto and by 24 Great grandchildren and 1 Great Great grandchild.

Helyn is preceded in death by her husbands Russell Moore and Claude Tackitt; her siblings Jean Boulton and Donald Duchscherer and by her parents.

Visitation Monday, January 14, 2013 from 3 PM until 9 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral Service Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment St. Johns United Church of Christ Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
