Robert H. Eich
Of Arlington Heights

Robert H. Eich was born April 4, 1922 in Chicago to John and Lydia (nee Redmann) Eich. He died January 25, 2012 at his home in Arlington Heights.

Robert was a member and chapter president of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity at Northwestern University. Following graduation, he served as a Lieutenant jg. in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Van Valkenburgh. Mr. Eich saw action at Iwo Jima and was awarded a Bronze Star at Okinawa in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He joined Eich Realty in Chicago following the war. He later worked as a broker and property manager with McKey & Pogue. He was very active with the Lincoln Belmont YMCA, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenview and served as past president of the Lakeview Lions Club.

Robert is survived by his children Ronald (Kathryn Walker) Eich, Steven (Nancy Harper) Eich and Judith (Mark) Standefer; his grandchildren Matthew, Melissa, Andrew, Bobby, Emily and John Eich, Cynthia (Mark) Smiskol, Katherine and Christine Standefer; his great grandchildren Bella Eich Hazen and Andrew Smiskol; his siblings Eunice (late Wilbert) Granzin and Lois (late Robert) Burrow.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Doris (nee Burklund) Eich and by his parents.

Funeral Services and interment will be private.
