Marcia Seltzer

Visitation for Marcia Bell Seltzer, 85, will be at The Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 N. Douglas Ave., Arlington Heights, on Friday, January 27, 2012 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Private interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park.

Born July 20, 1926 in Oak Park, the daughter of Bruce and Marie (nee McNair) Bell, she died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Marcia graduated from Wheaton College in 1948 with a B.S. in Education. She taught Home Economics at Dundee and Oak Park-River Forest High Schools before becoming a full-time mother and homemaker.

She was a long time resident of Arlington Heights and a member of The Orchard Evangelical Free Church, and volunteered in many community and church activities.

Marcia is survived by her children, Donald (Sharon O’Donnell) of Wiesbaden, Germany, Janet (Timothy) Stoker of Orlando, Fla., and Barbara (Andrew) Klotnia of Hoffman Estates; grandchildren Katherine (Nicholas) Hendrychs of Williams Bay, Wis., David (Michelle) Stoker of Gainesville, Fla., Emily and Hannah Stoker of Orlando, Fla., Katie O’Donnell of Greensboro, N.C. and Scott O’Donnell of Wiesbaden, Germany; her brothers, Dr. Norman (Joan) Bell of Okemos, Mich. and Gordon (Ruth) Bell of Oregon, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Seltzer, whom she married March 19, 1955; her brother John (late Alice) Bell and by her parents.
