Margaret “Marge” A. Slome
Of Mt. Prospect

Margaret “Marge” A. Slome was born on July 21, 1929 to Joseph and Josephine Surdy in Chicago. She passed away on January 24, 2011 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Marge was a 47 year resident of Mt. Prospect, a founding member of St. Cecilia church, and a homemaker. She loved to bowl, golf, garden and travel and the joy of her life was her grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her children, Donald (Ellen) Slome, Linda (Michael) Bertram, Gail Hannay, Gregory Slome, Mark Slome, and Glenn (Paula) Slome; her grandchildren, Patrick, Kimberly, Christie, Lauren, Ashlee, Alexandra, Melissa, Tyler, Stacey and Zachary; her siblings Agnes (John) Tokarewich, and Theresa ( the late William) Rooney; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Slome and her sister Joan (Richard) Vahl and her brother Al Surdey

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, January 26, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 700 S. Meier Rd., Mt. Prospect for Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial at All Saints Cemetery.
