Joseph P. Mayer

Joseph P. Mayer was born on December 31, 1940 in Chicago to Joseph and Bernice (nee Klingler) Mayer. He passed away on January 21, 2011 in Arlington Heights.

He is survived by his children, Mary Jo (Ric) Meza and Joe (Kim) Mayer; his grandchildren, Cristina, Maria and Gabriela Meza; his sister, Mary (Richard) Tauber; and his niece, Anne Tauber.

Joseph was a long time employee of the Chicago Tribune.

Visitation 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago, 1440 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, 60607 or to a favorite charity.
