Barbara D. Cann

Barbara D. Cann was born August 20, 1939 in Chicago to Frank and Bernice (nee Arrigo) Domenico. She died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at her home in Arlington Heights.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Cann was the head of customer service for Weber-Stephen. She was a long-time and active member of St. James Catholic Church where she was a former employee, RCIA coordinator and a Eucharistic Minister. Additionally Barbara was a volunteer tutor at troubled schools in Chicago. She loved to travel, enjoyed the arts and was an avid reader and book club member.

Barbara is survived by her children, Edward III (Roxanne) Cann, William (Kim) Cann, Mary Lou (David) Zeiders, and Francis (Sandra) Cann; her grandchildren, Edward IV, Corey, Elijah, Matthew, Melissa, Bailey, James, Samuel, Rileigh, Henry, and Leo; her great-grandchildren, Addison and Paige; and her sister Joyce Asselborn.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM, Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial Arlington Heights Wheeling Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Arlington Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
