Takata
Of Arlington Heights
Earl Takata was born February 2, 1924 in Chicago to Kay and Eva (nee
Halverson) Takata. He passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at
Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview.
Mr. Takata received his Masters degree in Engineering from IIT and was
self-employed as a consultant for many years. He was a World War II
veteran of the Army and was a Purple Heart recipient.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Laurie (nee Janowick) Takata
whom he married on June 28, 1952 at St. John Berchman Church in Chicago;
his children, David Takata, Janice (Tom) Rossi, Gary Takata, Cheryl
(Craig) Blaum, Christine Takata, Jay (Sue) Takata, and Jennifer Takata;
18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks
south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and from 9:00 AM, Wednesday,
January 19, 2011 until time of Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Edna
Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.
Interment is at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
