Gustaf C. Wilde
Of Arlington Heights

Gustaf C. Wilde was born July 3, 1913 in Chicago to Fred and Florentine (nee Drager) Wilde. He passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Wilde started his working career as a baker. He later was owner of Vaughan and Wilde Hardware in Glenview and worked as a salesman at Mutual Ace Hardware in Highland until he retired. Gustaf loved to bake, travel and work with his hands. At Christmas time he would bake 75 different kinds of cookies which he gave to all his friends and family.

Gustaf is survived by his niece, LaVerne Rikard and many other nieces and nephews; his grandchildren, Glenn (Suzanne) Rikard, Mark (Magenta) Rikard, and Cindy (Dean) Lederer; his great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Sara Bess Rikard, Abigail and Hannah Lederer, and Gus Rikard.

He is preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne K. (nee Kriegsman) Wilde; and his parents.

Memorial service 11:00 AM, Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Memorial visitation from 10 Am until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1114 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
