August John Mayerck

August John Mayerck was born October 20, 1919 to Emil and Rose (nee Mahut) Mayerck in Arlington Heights. August died December 23, 2010 in Palatine.

Mr. Mayerck served in the United States Army Air Force. August was a Bartender at Sylvia’s Lounge in Arlington Heights from 1958 to 1984, he also served as a security guard at Chase Bank in Arlington Heights from 1984 to 1999 and a crossing guard for School District 25 from 1999 to 2009. August was a member of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights.

August is survived by his wife, Geraldine, whom he married April 26, 1958 in Arlington Heights, his children David (Mary Jo) Mayerck of Fox Lake and Michael (Cheryl) Mayerck of Arlington Heights; his grandchildren Cory( Jason) Verbeeck, Krista (Rob) Sweas, Sam, David, Ashley, Nicole and Michael Mayerck.

Mr. Mayerck is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Visitation from 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 15, 2010 until the time of Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to, Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60005.
