James B. Ballard
Of Arlington Heights

James B. Ballard was born January 24, 1919 in Providence, Rhode Island to James and Mary (nee Hussey) Ballard. He died on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

For most of his working career, James was in the vending business starting as National Supervisor, then as a franchise owner of Canteen Corporation for over 25 years. After his retirement, he was an avid reader and enjoyed playing golf and watching all types of sports.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn (nee Bernero) Ballard whom he married on October 4, 1958 in Chicago; his siblings, Robert (the late Harriet) Ballard, Richard (Joan) Ballard, and Elizabeth (William) Eaton; his sister-in-law, Mary (James) Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 8:30 AM until time of prayers 10:15 AM, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights, to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The American Cancer Society, 1114 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004
