Virginia Pelletier
Formerly of Arlington Heights
Virginia Pelletier was born April 22, 1920 in Chicago to Paul and
Isabella Neuses. She died January 17, 2010 in Seminole, FL.
Virginia is survived by her children Michael (Ann) and Roger (Penny)
Pelletier; grandchildren Timothy (Holly), Bradley, Melissa and Megan and
her great grandchildren Ashley and Keaton.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ervin “Viv” Pelletier; her
brother Don Neuses and by her parents.
Born in Chicago in 1920, Virginia lived there until her father moved the
family to Arlington Heights in 1945. In 1947, she met and married Ervin
“Viv” Pelletier. The following year, 1948, Viv and Virginia welcomed
their first son Michael. In 1952, they welcomed their second son, Roger
and their family was complete. Also in 1952 under her father's
leadership, they both started a home based business named P.K. Neuses
Inc. and she became what they termed “the first and only employee,” and
while Virginia wore many different hats, her official title was that of
secretary and treasurer. The fact that Virginia became a working mother
before the term was really coined and the practice was not as common as
today is something that would always bring her great pride. Under both
Virginia's and P.K.'s efforts they were able to turn the home-based
business into a nationally recognized supplier and distributor of
telecommunications products and tools. Virginia eventually transitioned
from being the “only employee” to the Chairman of the Board and the
leadership of a half dozen employees and she held that role until her
retirement in 1979. In 1983, Virginia sold her stake of the company to
her brother Don Neuses and her and Viv then moved to Madeira Beach,
Florida, where she lived until her passing.
