Carl J. Erickson
Of Buffalo Grove

Carl J. Erickson was born July 30, 1926 in Carbury, North Dakota to Carl and Alma (nee Wall) Erickson. He died on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

He served in the Navy during WWII and was everybody’s go-to-guy, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a founding member and very active at Hope Lutheran Church.

Carl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marcella (nee Kristjanson) whom he married December 28, 1949 in Mountain, North Dakota; his children Sheila (David) DCamp, and David (Denise) Erickson; his grandchildren, Timothy and Melissa DCamp, and Devin, D.J., and Dana Erickson; his brothers, Wallace (Lorraine), and Franklin (Anne) Erickson; and his many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Evelyn, Ruth, and Wayne.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, and from 9:30 AM until time of service 10:30 AM, Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Hope Lutheran Church of Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights & Checker Rd., Long Grove. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hope Lutheran Church.
