John W. Minard
Of Arlington Heights

John W. “Wally” Minard was born April 26, 1923 in Hammond, Ind. to John A. and Marie Constance (nee Conrad) Gould. He died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at his home.

Before retiring, Mr. Minard was a salesman for Pfizer Inc. He served in the Army with the 147th General Hospital during WW II. He was a faithful and loyal usher at St. James Catholic Church for 40 years.

His survivors include his children Carmen (Dennis) Cline of Littleton, Colo., Ron (Susan) Minard of Park City, Utah, Cristina (Tim Walczynski ) Minard-Walczynski of Los Angeles, Calif., Laura Minard of Arlington Hts, and Victoria (Rob) Coombs of Lake Zurich; his grandchildren Sean (Mary), Joel, Crystal, Elise, Kelsey, Lauren, Sophia and Evan; his great grandchildren Riley, Aidan and Alicia.

John is preceded in death by his wife Alicia (nee Olagaray); his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:45 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment private.
