William Edward Melton
Of Arlington Heights

William Edward Melton was born March 1, 1944 in Mason City, Iowa to Edward and Kerma (nee Torgerson) Melton. He died on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Melton was a manufacturers representative for KMK Sales in Arlington Heights, Insulator Supply in Arlington Heights, and he was a Midwest representative for Metl-Span based in Texas. He served in the National Guard, and was a member of the Rolling Green Country Club in Arlington Heights. He was an avid lifetime golfer and golfed with such notables as Mike Ditka and Michael Jordan. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters, Julianna (Steve) Boshold of Hawthorn Woods, and Jennifer (Greg) Cardelli of Hawthorn Woods; his fiancé Karen Puccillo of Elmwood Park; his dear friend Suzanne Melton of Arlington Heights; his grandchildren, Derek, Jake, Max, Karlee, Kate, Madelyn and William; his siblings, Brian (Sheila) Melton, Susan (Bruce) McFarland, Sally Grilli and Scott (Aimee) Melton; and son of June Melton. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews; nephew of Adelaide Thompson of Edina, Minnesota and Mike Torgerson of Mason City, Iowa.

William is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, and from 9:00 AM until time of service 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 9, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights. Entombment is at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
