Patricia Tennes Weisser
Of Buffalo Grove
Pat Tennes Weisser was born
November 19, 1947 in Chicago
to Charles J. and Mary Jane
(nee Druhan) Tennes. She
passed away on January 6,
2008 in Arlington Heights.
Pat was the Administrator
and Associate Director of
Riverside Foundation since
1975. She was the consummate
Nursing Home Administrator.
She was highly respected and
sought out by her fellow
professionals for advice due
to her knowledge base and
excellent administrative
skills in an extremely
difficult field of health
care. All who worked with
her felt her compassion and
advocacy for individuals
with developmental
disabilities. She would
champion the cause of any
individual who needed her
help, no matter how
unpopular or difficult the
situation was. She was fair
when fair was not easy to
be. In 1990 she was
diagnosed with a malignant
brain tumor. After surgery
the doctors told her she
should wait six months so
she could regain more
functioning yet Pat returned
to work after six weeks. She
continued to display courage
for years by continuing to
do her work competently with
diminished eyesight and
mobility, and chronic pain.
All who knew her will miss
her.
She is survived by her
husband of 38 years, Frank
S. Weisser whom she married
on May 30, 1969 in Palatine,
her son, Jake Weisser, her
siblings, Susan (Lloyd
Hanson) Tennes Hanson,
Charles J. (Lauren) Tennes
and Loretta Tennes and her
nieces and nephews, Sarah,
Brynn, Isaac, Ann, Jed,
Megan, Nick, Dan, Bryan,
Aaron and Sarah W.
