John Norman “Norm” Baines, Jr.
Of Schaumburg

John Norman “Norm” Baines, Jr., formerly of Arlington Heights, was born March 15, 1921 in Chicago to John Norman and Laura Rose (nee Jones) Baines. He died Monday, December 31, 2008 at Plum Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Palatine.

Mr. Baines was buyer for Sears & Roebuck for many years and later sold insurance for John Hancock Insurance. He served in the Air Force During WW II.

Norman is survived by his daughters Catherine (John) Kappus of Washington, New Jersey and Mary (Kevin) Westre of Lake Bluff, his sons Patrick (Mary) Baines of Palatine, Matthew (Christie) Baines of North Barrington and Michael of Schaumburg; his grandchildren John (Tracy), Elizabeth, Julie and Daniel Baines, Whitney (Michael) Hutchings, Mackenzie Baines, Alycia, James, Bernadette and Ryan Kappus and Justin Westre; his great child Riley; and his dear friend Teddy Vessenes. 

Norm is preceded in death by his wife Catherine and his parents.

Visitation from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service and interment are private.
