John “Pat” McGahan
Of Sun City, Arizona

John “Pat” McGahan was born on November 12, 1937 in Chicago to John J. and Dorothy (nee Bleck) McGahan. He died Wednesday, January 23, 2007 at John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

The majority of Pat’s career was as a carpenter. One of his most fulfilling and enjoyable jobs was working on “Journey Into Imagination” and the “German and Italian Villages” at Disney World. His favorite pastimes were golf and watching Notre Dame and the Bears play. Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Carol McGahan, whom he married on January 19, 1957 in Chicago; the cherished father of Kelly (Keith Bunetta), Patrick McGahan, Michael (Aligia) McGahan and Katie McGahan; the wonderful grandfather of Jordan and Jack McGahan; the brother of Margie Cadogan and Bobbie McGahan; the brother-in-law of Bud and Darlene Moriarty; the nephew of Nellie McCann and Mildred Benson; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.

The McGahan family will receive family and friends from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 8:45 AM, Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
