Eleanor A. Brown was born on July 12, 1916 in Cambridge, WI to Dr. Karl Krogh and Daisy Sarah (nee Porter) Amundson. She died Friday, January 19, 2007 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Mrs. Brown was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, the League of Women Voters, the A.A.U.W. (American Association University Women) and the Arlington Heights Community Concert Series.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, Kenneth M., whom she married on January 14, 1939 in Madison, Wisconsin; her children, Michael (Florence McCarthy) Brown of Fox Lake, Stephan Brown of Turlock, CA, Kenneth (Beverly) Brown of LaGrange, Dr. Carletta (Dr. Burton) Vanderbilt of Bellingham, WA, Nicholas Brown of Gilroy, CA and Elizabeth (Gregory) Watson of Arlington Heights; her nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild; and her brother Albert “Bud” Amundson..

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Visitation also from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Ft. Atkinson, Wisc. Interment following visitation at St. Joseph Cemetery, Ft. Atkinson, Wisc.
