Frederick George Franke
Of Marion, North Carolina, formerly Arlington Heights

Frederick George Franke was born on June 18, 1916 in Chicago to William and Minnie (nee Becker) Franke. He passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 in North Carolina.

Mr. Franke was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and he retired as an engineer in 1981 from Illinois Bell Telephone Company. Fredrick was a member of the American Legion Post 208. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Signal Corps in England and France during WWII and was a member of the Arlington Heights American Legion Merle Guild Post #208.

Left to cherish Mr. Franke’s memory are his wife of 65 years, Irene (nee Carlson) Franke; his children Chris (Lyle) Malzahn of Marion, NC and Karen (James) Dill of Hilton Head, SC; his grandchildren Jennifer (Tucker) Wiggins and Scott (Kristen) Malzahn; his great-granddaughter Ella Carolina Malzahn; his brother, Charles E. Franke of Rolling Meadows; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Franke is preceded in death by his son, Gerald Franke; his sister Margaret E. O’Malley and his brother William G. Franke.

Visitation 10:00 AM, until the time of funeral service, at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church, 431 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment Mt. Olive Cemetery, Chicago.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Faith Lutheran Church, address above or to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 60 Bay St. , Staten Island, NY 10301.
