Cara M. Stansbury
Of Arlington Heights

“Cara” Carolyn Mary Irene Edith Stansbury was born on September 19, 1969 in Chicago to James and Carol (nee Mucha) Stansbury. She passed away on December 1, 2006 in Chicago.

Ms. Stansbury was employed as a Human Resources Representative at Hewitt Associates in Lincolnshire, Illinois. A graduate of St. James Grade School and Marillac High School, she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Marquette University where she was involved in the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. A past recipient of donor kidneys, Ms. Stansbury was an active advocate for organ donation, as well as a participant in and proponent of the “Transplant Olympics.” She was also active in young adult ministry at Old St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She was dearly loved by her family, friends and adoring nieces and nephews.

Carolyn is survived by her parents, Carol Stansbury of Arlington Heights and James Stansbury Jr. of Croton, Ohio, her sister, Cathleen (Chris) McGowan of Sioux City , Iowa, her brothers, James Stansbury III of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Michael (Jill Chapman) Stansbury of Pingree Grove, Ill. and Christopher Stansbury of Lake Havasu, Ariz., her grandparents, Joseph and Irene Mucha and James Sr. and Edith Stansbury, her uncle, Dennis Mucha of Chicago and her nieces and nephews, Sammy, Nicholas, Jacob, Maria Irene and Brigid Caroline McGowan.

Visitation from 3 PM until 9 PM Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Cara Stansbury Memorial Fund c/o Glueckert Funeral Home or Masses appreciated.
