John M. Metallo
Of Harwood Heights

John M. Metallo was born September 25, 1919 in Frosberg, Maryland to Nuncio and Frances (nee Imbrogno) Metallo. He died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago.

Mr. Metallo was a photo engraver for many years before retiring in 1982. He served in the Army during WW II and was an avid, "Die-Hard" Cubs Fan.

His survivors include his wife of 55 years Catherine "Kay" nee Mance, whom he married April 15, 1950 in Chicago; his daughters, Sharon M. (Terrence) Pawula of Buffalo Grove and Laura K. (Marc) Bidon of New City, New York; his grandchildren Rick, Elisabeth, Kenny and Jimmy Pawula and Timothy Bidon; and his sister Esther Salerno.

John is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ann Thompson and his brothers Louis, Arthur and Joe Metallo.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2006 from the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. Mary Catholic Church 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove for Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
