Rhea P. Schmidt
Of Arlington Heights
Rhea P. Schmidt was born January 15, 1922 in Chicago to Charles and Clarice (nee Orlikowski) Dyxin. She died January 24, 2006 at Lexington of Wheeling.
Prior to retiring Mrs. Schmidt worked as a bookkeeper for O'Connor & Goldberg in Chicago for over 20 years. She was a volunteer for the USO in Chicago.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Art, whom she married on September 13, 1947 in Chicago; her sister, Lolita (John) Griesmaier; her nieces and nephews Katherine Dyxin, Jeffery Griesmaier, Craig Griesmaier, Lance Griesmaier, Caroline (nee Dyxin) Matheson, Charles Dyxin, Brad Schmidt, and Blake Schmidt
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Charles Dyxin.
Visitation Friday, January 27, 2006, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
