Anthony L. Kopacz, a 44 year resident of Arlington Heights, was born June 11, 1923 in Chicago to Stanley and Proxeda (nee Michalak) Kopacz. He died January 7, 2006 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.
Mr. Kopacz worked as a metal finisher for many years until he retired on his 81st birthday.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (nee Richardson), whom he married on September 7, 1984; his daughters, Susan (John) Schultz of Algonquin and Sandra (Craig) Strickert of Newnan, GA; his stepchildren, Steven (Debbie) Binkley of Hoffman Estates, Kathleen (Robert) Sachse of Geneva, and Jill Binkley of Palatine; his grandchildren, Eric and Steven Schultz, Matthew, MacKenzie, Mark and Margaret Strickert; his sister, Dorothy (Sam) Ribando; and many nieces and nephews.
Anthony is preceded by his first wife Dolores nee Glen, his parents and his brother Joseph.
Visitation Tuesday, January 10, 2006 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd.,1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Wednesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 700 S. Meier Rd., Mt. Prospect at 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Glaucoma Research Foundation, 251 Post St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94109, www.glaucoma.org.
