Thomas J. Gunty, loving husband and father, passed away suddenly Friday, December 30, 2005. Tom was born September 1, 1957 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Francis and Gloria (nee Gorman) Gunty. Tom is survived by his
wife Monika; daughter Emilia; his mother Gloria; sisters Cathie (Donald) King and Char Gunty; brother Paul (Patti) Gunty and three nephews.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from DePaul. Tom devoted his professional life to DePaul where he met his wife, Monika, and made many friends. His more than 20 year tenure at DePaul included various positions in several departments, most recently as Research Analyst.
A lifetime love of playing music with friends led to composing and publishing his own music. In more recent years Tom's passions included graphic arts, showing at several Chicagoland galleries. Tom loved being a husband and a father and touched so many with his kind and gentle nature.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to: Emilia Gunty Education Fund, C/O Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd .
