Mike B. McDonald
Longtime resident of Prospect Heights

Mike B. McDonald, formerly of Arlington Heights was born November 25, 1929 in Oak Park, Illinois to Patrick and Pearl (nee Goetz) McDonald. He passed away Monday, January 17, 2005 at Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport,California.

Mr. McDonald was a golf pro and co-owner of Rob Roy Golf Club for over 45 years. Mike was a "Craftsman of Friendship," well known for his kindness, humor and ability to light up a room with his storytelling. He was a former member of the St. Alphonsus Men's Club.

He is survived by his children Mike (Nancy) of Vernon Hills, Keith of Prospect Heights, and Colleen (friend John Lindstrom) McDonald of Cobb, California; his grandchildren Christy (Talyon) Lester, Kelly (Jon) Smith, Becky and Michael McDonald, Katie Gould, Tanya Lambright, Shelley Nystrom, Sonja, Nicole and Nicholas Spinarski; his great grandchildren Jacob & Kaylee Smith, Logan Lester and Thalia Lambright; his sister MaryAnn (Richard) Craig, brother Robert (Sue) McDonald and his sister-in-law Dell McDonald and his loving friend Dee Gentile.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his brother Patrick and sister Pearl (Jake) Mueller.

Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers will be held 9:15 AM, Saturday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., proceeding to St. Alphonsus Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery.
